What are triggers?

Triggers fire an action when a specific event happens - for example, when someone joins the party or sends a particular message. Actions can reply in chat or run another command, which is how you build your own custom commands.

Opening the triggers section

  1. Open My Bots in the FNLB App.
  2. Click the gear icon on a category to open its settings.
  3. Open the Triggers and Actions section.
  4. Add a trigger, choose the event, and set the action it should run.

Building custom commands

A common use is a shortcut: when a message matches the trigger, the bot runs a command. A trigger on !hi, for example, can make the bot reply with a greeting, and a trigger on !win can run your usual lobby setup.

Custom commands are shown under Custom Commands in the bot's help output, so players can discover them.

Note: Each custom command must be unique within a category. If two triggers define the same command, the settings refuse to save until you rename one.
